Truth be told, I have a phobia of going to the dentist. I can recall trying to beg my mom if I could skip my semi-annual dental check-up. The thought of sitting on that chair with my mouth wide open and those bright lights shining on my face just gave me the creeps. I would only go to the dentist if it was necessary such as when teeth started to hurt after my wisdom teeth came out.
I first felt the pain late last year but I didn't want to have it treated because I knew the only solution was to have my wisdom teeth extracted. I didn't want to have surgery. I heard stories from my friends saying it was one of the worst experiences. The pain was tolerable so I just decided to let it pass until it reached the point that I could no longer take it.
Months went by and there was no indication of pain but I noticed that my upper teeth started to crowd. I scheduled a consultation at the dentist and he said that it was my wisdom tooth was pushing the rest of my teeth. I couldn't delay my wisdom teeth extraction any longer. It was time to face my fear.
I had both my left and right wisdom teeth on my upper jaw or maxillary extracted last October 2 in Affinity Dental Clinics along Rufino, Makati. As soon as I entered the clinic, they handed me forms to read. It had the instructions on what to expect, what to eat, and my list of medication for the pain. I was so nervous that I teared up a little bit. I even asked my boyfriend to stay with me inside the operating room just to calm me down. He sat and watched while Dr. DJ performed surgery. The procedure took less than hour and I was surprised that I didn't feel any pain. All I felt was pressure when he injected the anesthesia and when he pulled out the teeth. It was uncomfortable but nothing I couldn't handle.
Before my surgery, Dr. DJ told me, "Don't worry, you're in good hands." He was right! Choosing the right dental clinic does make matter.

May I know how much does Affinity Dental asks for a simple wisdom tooth extraction? I would like to compare the prices between Dental World Manila and Affinity.
