A Day Trip to Nusa Penida

The journey to Nusa Penida, Bali is not an easy one but I assure you, it is worth it. Prior to my trip, I did my research and asked around on how to get there. It's a 1-2 hour ferry ride from the Sanur Port depending on how strong the current is. If the current is gentle then it's a comfortable and relaxed boat ride. If it's rough then it's quite excruciating but just think of happy thoughts and time will go by faster. One of my friends even asked me, "Do you get seasick?" I said, "No why?" She goes, "Good because the boat ride is pretty intense." After that remark, I already had second thoughts on booking a tour there but I kept seeing all the beautiful images online. I couldn't miss the opportunity to see it for myself.

Getting There

I found a few sites online that can arrange the tour for you. You can check out Surya Penida Tour or Paket Tour Nusa Penida. These were the ones suggested to me but I ended up not booking through them. The driver we booked for our stay in Bali had a contact in Nusa Penida. He arranged everything for us and served as our tour guide. Most people opt to stay overnight or longer because traveling there takes a long time but we only had a day to spare. Our day tour was pricey at 2,300,000 Rupiah which is around Php8,467 but it saved us the headache and stress of trying to figure out our own way. Our driver picked us up from our hotel at 7AM in Ubud then brought us to the Sanur Port. We took the Angel Billabong Ferry to Nusa Penida. Once we arrived on the island, we had a driver waiting for us ready to take us around. The main attractions on the island are far from one another and there aren't built roads yet.

Broken Beach

Kelingking Beach

Atuh Beach

These are just the places we saw with limited time. Imagine what we more we would've seen if we stayed longer. This is definitely a reason why it's a must to come back- even despite the tiring journey.
