Ready for 2016

Hello 2016! I just got back from my 4-day vacation in Coron and what better way to start the year than in style. From A Distance has a new look. I promised myself that this will be the year that I improve all aspects of my life. Now with my blog polished, I can focus on deeper concerns. While I was on the plane going to home to Manila, I made a list of goals for myself for this year. I hope that this is finally the year that I attain all my plans.

1. Keep a journal
I've been wanting to do this for years but I always thought it would be too tedious. I don't carry a bag with me at all times so what more a journal? BUT I get inspiration for new blog entries in the most random places. I tend to forget about them right away. It's crucial to list them down. This will also help me clear my thoughts.

2. Travel often
I already listed the top 10 places that I NEED to visit this year. All I need to do is work hard to save enough money to buy my tickets! I will focus more on the travel section of my blog.

3. Be kind
This is constant reminder to me. One of my favorite and overused quotes is, "Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." The world always needs more love.

4. Add and subtract
This is my motto for this year. Whenever I purchase something new, I will make sure to donate or give away an item from my closet in return. This is to help declutter my closet and at the same time learn to live with less material things. It's time to stop hoarding especially during sales.

5. Home is where the heart is
Ever since I started working, I don't get to spend as much time at home anymore. I work in Makati and my house is all the way in Pasig. I get off at around 7 pm and it's extremely traffic at that time. I usually wait for the traffic to die down but that's already past 10 pm. There are also some Saturdays that I have to work. If I'm not working, I schedule photoshoots for my blog or do errands. Sundays used to be purely family time but now it's my rest day. I'm asleep half the day and the other half, I'm already preparing for the week ahead. Maybe now that I'm used to my work schedule, I can plan things better or hope for a miracle that the traffic in this country finally fixes itself. I really miss my family and my dogs!

6. Invest on a designer bag
All my bags come from the generosity of my parents. I want to be able to buy my own designer bag with my own savings.

7. Learn a new skill
I've been putting driving and learning how to ride a bike on hold for the longest time but I think I'm ready to try again. Fingers crossed that I don't get injured.

What are your plans for 2016? I'd love to hear them!
