Bong Tong Kee is a family-run restaurant chain from Singapore that is rooted in tradition, dedication to quality, and authenticity. It was brought to the Philippines by the Rodriguez
family, who have been a presence in the food industry, with Sbarro, Burgoo, and Gumbo, for more than three decades.
It's a common misconception for people to think Singaporean and Chinese food are one and the same. Some dishes are similar because a big part of their population consists of the Chinese but they also have influences from India and Malay which is why their flavors are a lot stronger. Back when I went to Singapore almost five years ago, I asked for the least spicy dish on their menu and yet I still ended up drinking at least gallon of water. I enjoy spicy food but I'm not even close to their level. They definitely like to put a kick in all their dishes and Bong Tong Kee was able to exactly do that.
