The Millennials

Millennials are those born between the 1980s to 2000s according to Time magazine. This includes me and most likely you reading this blog post at this very moment. We're also called the technology generation. We're all dependent on our gadgets and we find the need to constantly be connected through social media networking sites. EVERYONE has a phone. I tried to think if I knew someone who didn't and I couldn't name anyone. This has resulted for some (Not all!) to be lazy because things have become much easier for us as compared to our parents. I recently read an article entitled Millennials Don't Want Work Life Balance which looked at Millennials positively. Yes, we are much different from the earlier generation (Generation Y) but that doesn't make us worse for that matter. We just have a different way of looking at things. For example, for Generation Y, work is strictly being a lawyer, accountant, businessman, or doctor. Their profession is separated from who they are. For us, Generation X, we can see work as something personal. If we don't love it, we won't do it. This is why bloggers, photographers and other unusual professions are emerging. No matter how many times people hinder us by saying that there's no money in these jobs we still do it anyway. Success isn't only measured by the money we earn but also by the joy in our lives.
