A Hopeful 2017

My hopes for this year

As the saying goes, "There's always a rainbow after the rain." It sure did rain on my parade all of last year but this year, I get to ride my rainbow. Since 2016 was all about learning, 2017 will be the application of what I've learned.

I hope that I wake up every morning with a smile on my face. It doesn't matter if I have a problem. The fact that I get to see another day should be reason enough to be content. More importantly, I hope I am to put a smile on someone's face when they're feeling down.

I hope I am able to see more of the world. I find more of myself in every country that I visit. Not just to see the beautiful picture worthy places but I want to see the ugly side too. The Philippines is not the only country facing poverty and corruption. There are other countries, some even worse, that need our awareness. The best way to do that is by going there first hand to understand their situation.

I hope that I am able to find what I really want to do in life. I'm born in the early 90s so yes, I'm part of the"millennial" generation. We are known to jump from job to job because we feel entitled. However, that's not where I'm coming from. I believe that one has to grind to get the top but I also do believe you will only give 100% if you love what you do so there's no point in wasting your time doing something that doesn't at all interest you.

I hope that I'm able to be a better person in all aspects of my life. As a daughter, as a sister, a friend, a girlfriend, a child of God, and even as a citizen of this country. May everything that come out of my mouth be kind, my thoughts be filled with good intentions, and my heart free of hatred.

I hope that I am able to save money for the future. It's time to stop spending on material things like clothes and designer bags. I want to be able to spend on memories. Things that money really can't buy.

I hope that I'm able to be a role model. We bloggers are now labeled as "influencers." What we say affects other people. I've always been very outspoken about my love for animals. They are the cause that I advocate. This year, I added a "Dog Diaries" section on my blog. Here, I am going to share with you my stories with my pets, tips on how to take care of them, and everything in between. By doing this, I hope that you'll be able to be better mommies/daddies to your fur babies.

I hope that I'm able to be more independent. I've been cut-off financially from my parents for almost three years now but I honestly don't have that many bills to pay for since I still live at home. I've been considering moving out to see what it's like to be completely on my own. It's something unusual in the Philippines since it's part of our culture that we live with our parents until we are married. Also, I'm not earning enough money to detach myself. For now, baby steps will have to do. I'm going to try solo travelling for the very first time during the latter part of this year to do some soul sourcing but not for another soul but to get to know better my own.

I hope that I'm able to make this blog grow. From now on, I will be more diligent in writing posts. I will also try to veer away from normal sponsored posts and talk about the things that YOU want to hear. This blog isn't supposed to boost my self-esteem. It's really meant to build up others. With every post, I hope I'm able to make you feel that.
