An overnight stay at Marco Polo Ortigas was just what I needed to rejuvenate.
I'm a city girl--- loud and proud. As much as I love leaves and the fresh air, I think the city life is more for me. Whenever I'm in need of some R&R, I prefer the island life because it's so laid back. Lately, I haven't found the time to schedule a quick getaway because of so many last minute appointments. I was already desperate for some me-time and so an overnight stay at the Marco Polo Ortigas was in order. I'm always in the hotel to eat but this was my first time to experience their 5-star service outside of the restaurant. I couldn't just narrow down what I loved about my stay to one so I listed my top five instead.
1. The Comfy Beds
We stayed at their 40 sqm. Deluxe Room. Aside from the comfy bed, it comes with all the amenities you need. Wifi, LCD color TV, Mini Bar, and the best Nespresso Coffee Machine.
The best thing to do in a hotel is be lazy and bum around.
2. The Marble Bathtub
I don't have a bathtub at home. Every time I see one, I HAVE to make myself a bubble bath. It's one of my simple joys in life. I get do so much thinking and relaxing in the tub!
3. Lung Hin
You don't have to go out of the hotel to eat because they have so many options in hotel. There's In Room Dining for those of you lazy folk, Cafe Pronto for snacks (i.e. sandwiches, pasta & pastries), Cucina for Asian fusion food and Lung Hin for authentic Cantonese food. We were in the mood for some Yang Chow and Peking Duck so we choose Lung Hin for dinner. The head chef was based in Hong Kong before transferring to Manila. He really knows his stuff! Every dish was made to perfection and the best part is they do not put MSG. Feeling healthy kasi.
P.S. We had mango sago for dessert but I wasn't able to take a photo because I ate right it right away.
Crabmeat Corn Soup for Starters
Steamed Pork Siomai with Truffle Sauce for Dimsum
Salted Squid
Roast Peking Duck
Sautéed Diced Beef Cubes with Goose Liver
Stir-Fried Crystal Prawns
4. Breakfast in bed
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. No matter how early breakfast is, I will always wake up for it.
5. The Indoor Pool
For those of us who love the water but hate the sun, this indoor poor is perfect for you. The buildings outside make a great view.
