Today marks my 3rd month working for Rustan's. It has been challenging but I really do enjoy what I do. A part of my New Year's resolution is to put more effort into looking my best and this applies in work. Handling events requires me to be out of the office most of the time. I have meetings at hotels or with high profile clients. I don't want to look like I just rolled out of bed. Even if sometimes, I actually just did. However, I cherish every second of my sleep. It is too much of a sacrifice to wake up extra early to get dressed. I need to be at the office at 9 am and I only wake up an hour before. My formula to looking polished without spending too much time? Read below!
Shower the night before
This saves me at least 30 minutes of my morning routine. I shower the night before so when I wake up my hair is already dry and ready to style. I still take a half bath every morning. I just don't want to wet my hair because it takes me so long to blow dry and fix my hair.
Fix your outfits for the week on Sunday night
I don't know if this applies to men but for us women, we are indecisive when it comes to choosing an outfit. We have an closet full of clothes and yet we still cannot find anything to wear. I typically dress according to my mood. When I'm lazy, I go for a pull over and leggings but if I'm feeling all giddy, I'll put on a LBD with a sexy pair of high heels but when it comes to dressing for work, it's a whole different level of stress because I want to look polished. I spend all of Sunday night stressing my five outfits for the week instead of using an extra hour every morning trying to pick an outfit.
Natural Make Up
It's not easy to do your make up when you're in a hurry. Trust me, I've tried. I ended up looking like a panda with flushed cheeks. Stick to something simple but do able. My three musts are: concealer, bronzer and eyebrows.
Always have a pair of shades with you
For days that your eye bags decided to show, your shades will save your life. Of course, don't wear it indoors.
