Ever since I hit puberty, I started experiencing changes in my body. It's normal as we girls transition into women that hair grows
everywhere. I experimented different ways to get rid off all this unwanted hair. I tried to shave but it made the new hair grow thicker and so I opted to wax. However, my skin is very sensitive. Some waxes would irritate my skin but I thought it was my last resort. For five 5 years, I would wax at least twice a month. I had no idea that waxing would cause chicken skin and dark underarms. I would get insecure about raising my hands up. I avoided it at all costs but I loved wearing sleeveless tops. I didn't want to limit myself anymore. I researched on possible solutions and I consulted a dermatologist in
Skin 101 about my problem. She said the best option was to go through
laser therapy and
revlite. Laser therapy is when short, concentrated pulsating beams of light removes skin layer by layer. It removes wrinkles, acne and other skin blemishes. A session lasts from 30 minutes to an hour. Depending on what area you are focusing on. You will need at least six to ten sessions every 4 weeks. It's priced at P3800/ session. While revlite is somewhat similar but it removes age spots, sun spots, freckles, hyper pigmentation and many brown birth marks. Each session lasts much shorter. (between15 to 45 minutes) You can only do the procedure once a month and it cannot be simultaneously done as laser therapy. There should be at least two weeks interval from your last laser therapy session. It's priced at P2500/session. I've had a total of eight sessions already for both procedures. I still need a couple of more sessions because I have more hair growth compared to most women but I can already see improvements. It's not an overnight solution. It takes time and money but it's a good investment in the long run. I'm no longer scared and now I can raise my arms up as much as I want to!
