Cebu

I love to travel because I get excited being in a place I'm unfamiliar with. My family goes out of the country at least once a year but we hardly explore around the Philippines. So Toby and I have made it part of our bucket list to learn more about our own country. We have already been to a couple of provinces like Biliran, Baguio, and Bohol. This time, we went to Cebu! It was Toby's first time there and all he really wanted to do was try Cebu's famous Zebuchon but of course, we did other touristy things as well.

We were checked in at Cordova Reef Village Resort which is around 45 minutes away from the city proper. It's a bit far but we enjoyed it because it's quiet and less congested.

For our first night, we ate Lantaw restaurant which was one of Cordova's best restaurants. The food was delicious and it was accompanied by an even better view.

Sisig, garlic shrimp and my the best stuffed clams!

For our second day, we went to Oslob. Oslob is 3 hours away from the city by bus. We left by 6 am and arrived there at 9:30 am. Oslob is known for two things: Whale sharks and waterfalls. I was a bit hesitant to swim with the whale sharks but I knew I had to experience it at least once in my life. It wasn't at all what I expected it to be. The whale sharks were so gentle almost like my pet dogs! Sadly, we weren't able to visit Tumalog Falls because the road was under construction.

The water was murky which made it difficult to take photos.

All my friends recommended that we eat in IT Park. There were so many good restaurants to choose from. Toby is a big meat lover so we picked Everything Yummy. The name of the restaurant does justice to the food served. I wish we had back home in Manila.

For dessert, we tried La Marea's own version of Brazo de Mercedes. You have to try this if you're in Cebu!

On our last day, we decided just wanted to relax. After all, vacations are time to recuperate and forget all our worries just for a while.

We took a day tour of a resort nearby called Best Western's Sandbar. For less than P1000, you already have lunch buffet and free use of all their amenities.

Peace out, Cebu! Until next time.
